History

1913. Built in 1910 as part of Riga’s legendary “Forburg” – the only fully realized integrated residential quarter in the city – Viesturdārza Rezidence was commissioned by Baron K. Stael von Holstein to form, together with its “sister building” at Ausekļa Street 11, the representative development of Washington Square.

The rational Art Nouveau facades, spacious apartments, and landscaped courtyard set new standards for urban living quality already at the beginning of the 20th century. The Forburg quarter remains unique in Riga – no other project of its era and scale has been implemented with such unified and well-considered urban planning.

As a state-protected cultural monument, Viesturdārza Rezidence is recognized as an invaluable architectural and cultural asset.

Location

Viesturdārza Rezidence is located in one of Riga’s most prestigious neighborhoods – the Quiet Center. This location combines architectural elegance, a peaceful green environment, and excellent infrastructure.
